Botox and Dermal Fillers

Two different tools for two different problems. Knowing which one you actually need is most of the job.

Botox

Botox® is an FDA-approved prescription injectable. It relaxes specific muscles so the lines those muscles create soften. It is commonly used for frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

  • A treatment takes about fifteen minutes
  • Results build over several days rather than appearing right away
  • The effect is temporary, so treatments are repeated over time
  • Common side effects include tenderness, small bruises, or headache

Dermal fillers

Fillers add volume instead of relaxing muscle. They are used for areas that have lost fullness, or to shape features such as lips and cheeks. Which filler is used depends on the area being treated.

  • Volume shows immediately, with swelling settling over the following days
  • How long a filler lasts depends on the product and the area
  • Common side effects include swelling, bruising, and tenderness

Your consultation comes first

These are prescription medical treatments, not retail products. Before anything is injected you will have a consultation covering your health history, medications, allergies, prior cosmetic treatments, and what you want to change. Some people are not candidates, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Injections are performed by a certified injector under the supervision of our medical director, Dr. Raul Rodriguez, M.D., who is the named prescriber for both locations.

All prescription therapies require a medical evaluation. A licensed provider decides whether a treatment is appropriate for you. Not everyone is a candidate.

Individual results will vary. This is not a guarantee of outcome.
